China’s Wind Power Bidding Volume Hits Record 224.8GW in 2024

The China Wind Energy Association (CWEA) recently announced that the total bidding volume for wind power projects in China for 2024 has reached a historic high of 224.8 gigawatts (GW).

The China Wind Energy Association (CWEA) recently announced that the total bidding volume for wind power projects in China for 2024 has reached a historic high of 224.8 gigawatts (GW). This includes 16,422 megawatts (MW) allocated for project bidding and 6,060 MW for framework procurement.

 

The "Three North" regions—comprising Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Hebei, and Heilongjiang—account for 70% of the total bidding volume. Among the developers, China Huadian Corporation leads with a bidding volume of 17.65 million kilowatts, securing the top spot in the wind power development sector.
