China’s Customs Authority: Photovoltaic Product Exports Surpass RMB 200 Billion for Four Consecutive Years

At the January 13 press conference on "Achievements in China's High-Quality Economic Development," Lv Daliang, spokesperson and director of the Department of Statistical Analysis at the General Administration of Customs, announced that China’s foreign trade volume reached a historic high in 2024. This growth has been driven by the continuous emergence of new engines powering trade development.

China's green products have not only bolstered global supply chains but also contributed significantly to global efforts in combating climate change and advancing green transitions. In the renewable energy sector, the export value of wind turbines surged by 71.9% in 2024. Photovoltaic (PV) product exports exceeded RMB 200 billion for the fourth consecutive year, while lithium battery exports reached a record-breaking 3.91 billion units.

In the green transportation sector, exports of electric locomotives for railways have grown steadily for five consecutive years. Electric motorcycles and bicycles have gained strong traction in international markets, with export values surpassing RMB 40 billion for the first time. Meanwhile, electric vehicle (EV) exports reached a significant milestone, exceeding 2 million units in 2024. To put this achievement into perspective, if these vehicles were lined up bumper to bumper, they could form a continuous chain from Beijing to Rome.
