According to the latest data released by the China National Coal Association, 16 coal enterprises in China are projected to surpass 50 million tons in raw coal production in 2024. These 16 companies together are expected to produce approximately 2.73 billion tons of raw coal, which represents a decrease of about 40 million tons, or a 1.0% decline compared to 2023.
Among them, seven enterprises are set to produce more than 100 million tons of raw coal, down by one compared to 2023. The total production from these seven companies is estimated to reach around 2.11 billion tons, a decline of approximately 40 million tons, or 1.5%. These include major state-owned coal companies such as CHN ENERGY, China National Coal Group Corp, and CHINA HUANENG, as well as leading producers from key coal-producing provinces, including Jinneng Holding Group Co., Ltd, SHANXI COKING COAL, and SHAANXI COAL&CHEMICAL INDUSTRY. Additionally, Shandong Energy Group Co., Ltd., based in eastern China, is also among them.
Furthermore, nine enterprises are expected to produce between 50 million and 100 million tons of raw coal each. These include companies such as LU’AN CHEMICAL GROUP, State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), Henan Energy Group Co.,Ltd., and Huaihe Energy(Group)Co.,Ltd.. The combined output from these nine enterprises is expected to reach about 620 million tons, slightly lower than the previous year.
